Wine Regions
The Limestone Coast's wine industry is as diverse as it is large.
Small, family-run boutique wineries sit alongside major national companies...
and every one of them takes their wine very seriously.

Coonawarra
Coonawarra sits at the southern end of the Limestone Coasts great
Terra Rossa phenomenon. Located on a 2 kilometre wide and 12 kilometre
long cigar shaped strip of Terra Rossa soil upon which more than
20 wineries are clustered. It's here where those world famous reds are born
particularly the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Padthaway
Padthaway is the most northern sub-region of the Limestone Coast, with
soil types reminiscent of Bordeaux and a reputation for outstanding
premium Australian Shiraz and Chardonnay. Wines are acknowledged as
Australias finest.
Wrattonbully
Just slightly north east of Coonawarra is Wrattonbully, now considered
by some to be the heartbeat of the Limestone Coast because of it's
astonishing growth. Inland ranges representing the ancient coastal
dunes and sea-bed from which the Limestone Coast wine zone derives its name.
Robe

Situated about half way between the coastal township of Kingston

The distinctive and classic attributes of our terra rossa soil and the
regions close proximity to the Great Southern Ocean is the basis for
our registered theme of . . . terra rossa by the sea.
